Frequently Asked Questions
What are the Entrance Requirements? All students must 18 years of age or older and have basic reading and math skills. No student shall be denied admission on the basis of age, sex, race, color, creed, national origin, religious preference, handicap or familial status.
What if a course is rescheduled? The Academy's policy states that classes canceled due to inclement weather or other emergencies will be rescheduled for the following scheduled class time. Should a course be canceled, the student's tuition will be fully refunded.
What is the Refund Policy? Coastal Advantage Real Estate Academy charges a $50 cancellation fee to any enrolled student who withdraws less than 3 business days before the first class begins. If the student reschedules for the next course offered, the $50 will be credited to the student as partial payment for the course. There are no refunds once the first class begins.

To be enrolled in our course, you must complete the Enrollment Contract and your tuition fee must be paid. Once you register, you will receive confirmation and your School Bulletin that sets forth the basic rights and obligations of both the student and the school which has been approved by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. The Student Enrollment Contract must be executed before entering the first class session.
Can I enroll after a course has started? Late registration is accepted only as space permits. NC real estate law requires that students attend 80% of all scheduled classes. Therefore no students will be accepted once 20% of the sessions have taken place.
What are the attendance and grading policy? Students must attend 80% of all scheduled classes. An overall course grade of 75 or higher with a minimum score of 75 on the final exam entitles the student to receive a course completion certificate. The prelicensing course completion certificate is necessary to apply for the real estate license examination. Should a student score less than 75 on the final and/or have an overall course grade of less than 75, there will be one re-take exam offered. The re-take exam must be completed within two weeks after the first exam. If the new results satisfy the course requirements, a certificate of completion will be issued. Students who are absent for the re-take exam will forfeit taking a re-take exam.
